Conditions for independent and compliant cash register operations:
- Acquiring and practicing the necessary skills to perform the task
- Providing the Member with adequate training on the type of cash register always in use, how to safely operate it, and the techniques involved in cashier duties, as well as the method of cash settlement and all tasks required for the activity and bookkeeping, and the instructions applicable to the cash service at the specific location.
- Before starting the fulfillment, the following must be verified:
- Whether the received change amount is correct (it must be counted).
- Whether the cash register has been set to zero, and whether a reading has been taken.
- Whether no amount has been entered (the clear button must be pressed).
- Whether the date setting is correct.
- Whether the printed tape is legible.
Most important rules:
- Following the signature of the cashier training protocol, the Member cannot claim, in case of a cash register discrepancy, that they were unaware of the type of cash register, the cash settlement form, that they were not properly trained, or that they are unfamiliar with the relevant instructions.
- The cashier receipt must be given to the customer without request.
- The Member shall bear full financial responsibility for any shortage arising in the cash register operated by them.
- In case of improper operation of the cash register, there is a risk that criminal proceedings may be initiated against the violator, which may result in liability for embezzlement, misappropriation or theft, depending on the case. In addition, if there is a suspicion of these crimes, the Cooperative may suspend the Member's personal contribution, terminate their membership, and enforce its claim for damages through the courts.
- The Member is obliged to familiarize themselves with and comply with the cash handling regulations of the commercial unit. The cash handling regulations may contain additional rules beyond those listed on this form.
